Which Do You Like? Hargrave Anemos Signature E-Series Yachts Bear 4 Studios’ Designs

Sometimes throwing away the rulebook is the best rule. Hargrave Custom Yachts is putting aside the long tradition of having set exterior styling while allowing clients to choose their own interior designer. With the Hargrave Anemos Signature E-Series yachts, four different studios have penned both styling and interior options. You can mix and match as you please, too.

With more than 30 megayacht deliveries to date, including Romeo Foxtrot, the E-Series clearly holds appeal. Hargrave decided to preserve the engineering backbone, including the Jack Sarin hulls. It also decided to keep the sizes customers like best, from 98 to 125 feet (30 to 38 meters), along with features like seven feet (two meters) of headroom and accommodations for 10. Otherwise, customers’ input above the tank deck allows for a lot of creativity.

To re-imagine the projects as the Hargrave Anemos Signature E-Series yachts, the builder approached four design studios. Notably, the series springs from Project Anemos, a concept design the builder and Italy-based Satura Studio revealed late last year. Satura Studio’s proposal still stands (above), with chiseled exterior lines and an elegant, modern interior. Owners who enjoy day-to-night entertaining might especially like the designers’ vision of a bar within the main saloon.

Cruisers who like ultra-contemporary design, meanwhile, may prefer what Tony Castro Yacht Design created (below). This is the first time the UK-based studio has worked with Hargrave, and it’s dramatically reinvented the E Series styling. Distinctive rib-like arches look as if they weave into the superstructure, for instance. An equally distinctive X forms where the profile lines intersect. Inside, the look is just as modern, mixing metal, mirrored surfaces, stone, and woods.

The Milan-based Edoardo Ridoli of ER Architecture & Yacht Design lends his handiwork to the Hargrave Anemos Signature E-Series yachts, too. Having contributed to vessels as diverse as Carnival Cruise Lines ships and Amer Yachts custom yachts, Ridoli has penned a light-filled design (below). Much of the superstructure is glass, for example, with subtle tones and textures throughout to keep the emphasis on the horizon.

Finally, a previous Hargrave collaborator, Patrizio Facheris of Miami-based Facheris Design, calls for even more, and more dramatic, glass (top and bottom). Especially prominent toward the bow, it lends the impression that the interior is quite literally wall-to-wall glass. However, as much as the main-deck master does have full-height panes, privacy remains protected. Stone soles, a stone-clad bar, and strong contrasts between light and dark colors set a glamorous stage from room to room.

While the studios are willing to work with each other if buyers like one designer’s styling and another’s interior, Hargrave also says buyers can bring their own designer to the series. Regardless, the Hargrave Anemos Signature E-Series yachts will all meet RINA classification. They’ll additionally see top speeds from 25 to 28 knots, depending on engine choice, and carry a crew of seven. Sound attenuation pledges peaceful experiences no matter where you roam. According to Hargrave, decibel readings will max out at 58 Db-A with the engines at 80 percent load. That’s slightly quieter than normal conversation.
