Winter sports and yachting may seem like an odd mix. But, Y.CO is banking on it. The Y.CO Fort Lauderdale office has forged a sponsorship agreement with the Florida Panthers hockey team.
The deal resulted from a friendship between Steve Elario, a Y.CO Fort Lauderdale broker, and Vinnie Viola, the team owner. The Florida Panthers were purchased by Viola last September. Starting with the upcoming season, Y.CO Fort Lauderdale sales and charter brokers will host events in the bar of Club Red by Stoli, the VIP area. VIP ticket holders also receive dedicated tickets to concerts and events. (Viola’s acquisition included the operating agreement for the Sunrise-based BB&T Center, which is owned by Broward County.) Therefore, Y.CO Fort Lauderdale representatives will be on hand for those as well.
During Florida Panthers games and concerts, the special brokerage events will be called “Club Red sponsored by Y.CO.” Furthermore, Y.CO signage will be near the arena’s private boxes. And, guests using VIP valet parking will receive Y.CO brochures and gift packages that include the brokerage house’s own promotional partners.
The BB&T Center capacity is about 20,700. According to ESPN, the 2013-14 season saw the Florida Panthers operate at an 83-percent capacity.
