Axioma has been enjoying success as a charter yacht for seven years. So much so that requests regularly exceed her capacity. Therefore, the owner has a support vessel, My Bro, in build for completion in two years.
When word spread earlier this year that Axioma was adding a support vessel, some naturally wondered why the owner didn’t just build a bigger replacement. A larger version of the 236-footer (72-meter) could accommodate the extra family and friends who several repeat charter guests want to invite along. (Axioma’s maximum guest count is 12.) However, there’s nothing “wrong” with Axioma, where the spa and other pampering amenities are perennial favorites. So, too, are her toys and of course her crew. A support yacht would be a quicker and more effective way to solve the capacity issue, the owner decided.
My Bro is currently under construction at Dunya Yachts in Turkey. She’s a 158-foot (48-meter) power catamaran, with design and engineering by Greg Marshall’s studio. When she launches in 2023, she’ll have accommodations for 10 guests in five staterooms. Additionally, her 43-foot (13-meter) beam will provide a multitude of more spacious amenities. For instance, she’ll have her own spa, gym, and watersports launch pad (a.k.a. swim platform). In fact, expect to find diving equipment, sailing catamarans, SeaBobs, half a dozen stand-up and ride-on PWCs, kayaks, and plenty of boards (paddleboards to kiteboards) onboard. Furthermore, a handful of inflatables, like a slide and climbing wall, will be available. Perhaps most notable, My Bro will carry a personal sub.
That’s not the end of it. My Bro will have a helipad that can become a tennis court, basketball court, alfresco cinema, or dance floor. Yet another idea sure to please: a helipad-turned-yoga platform.
With a dedicated crew, My Bro will see a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. That’s plenty to charter either in tandem with Axioma or independently, which she’ll do on occasion. Either way, she’ll provide 8,611 square feet (800 square meters) of deck space to enjoy.
