Research reveals that the rising generations of wealth want experiences without having to own a jet, a yacht, or related asset. Floating Life, which offers services from charter to yacht management, proposes a solution. It created the FL Series so that customers can explore the world and share ownership in a fractional scheme—or, of course, commission a yacht solely for their own family.
Floating Life was an early adopter of fractional ownership in yachting, in fact, dating back to 2009. Among the three FL Series superyachts, it believes the FL42 (above) is particularly well-suited to the structure. She’s a 138-footer (42-meter), therefore large enough to take several friends and family along but not so large as to be a regulatory complex yacht. Further attractive, with Satura Studio, Floating Life reconfigured the layout for an entire deck beneath the traditional lower deck to house the engine room. Therefore, guests can walk straight down a hall from their staterooms to the beach club. Similarly, crew can service the cabins more easily and quickly.

In fact, all of the FL Series yachts share this same technical platform and deck layout. Plus, each should see a range of 5,000 nautical miles at best cruise. That’s more than enough to cover the Atlantic Ocean. The other FL Series yachts are the FL47, a 154-footer (47-meter, above), as well as the smallest of the three, the FL38, a 125-footer (38-meter, below).

Andrea Pezzini, Floating Life’s co-founder, says that the FL Series shares similarities with what the team did in overseeing Audace. Those include looks unmistakably conveying a globetrotting intent. However, the series “has something new to offer,” he adds. This includes the under lower deck. Besides housing the engine room, it has space for a full laundry room or stowage, or both. This, Pezzini explains, also brings the center of gravity lower, for better stability.
In terms of further new lifestyle features, the superyacht series includes day heads on every deck, “a rarity onboard 40-meter yachts, especially on the sundeck,” he notes. Opening balconies, pools, copious alfresco areas, and more are suggestions, too. All three offer customizing.
