The next time the chiseled decks of the Feadship yacht Project 715 are visible, it should be her launch date. These, though, are the first looks at the still-mostly confidential superyacht that will make history for the Dutch builder.

The 262-footer (80-meter) is a significant contract for a few reasons. Firstly, she has an ice-classed hull. Specifically, Feadship says she’ll meet ice class II classification. This means the megayacht will be able to operate in waters with relatively thin ice. (She’s not intended for ice breaking.) In fact, the shipyard says that the owners intend to cross the Northwest Passage. Secondly, the propulsion system will combine diesel-electric power, which incorporates batteries, with solar power. According to Feadship, the yacht Project 715 will be capable of relying solely on her water-cooled batteries for up to two days. These emission-free operations suit pristine areas like Fiji, yet another destination on the owners’ itinerary. Their travels further will take them to places like the South of France and St. Barths, too.

Unfortunately, no further details are available yet about the design or construction. However, given the stage of construction, delivery should take place sometime in 2025. Also, close looks at the main aft deck reveal what might be a pool. Hatches to each side just below might be for a tender garage or beach club, too.

The movement of Project 715 comes shortly after Feadship delivered a much larger megayacht, the 387-foot (118-meter) Launchpad. Launchpad headed out on her maiden voyage for the Caribbean earlier this month. Several social media reports suggest that her owner is Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg, although the shipyard has not commented.
